Origin
The Tradescantia Sweetness, also known as the Tradescantia Albiflora 'Sweetness', is a plant species from the Commelinaceae family. The species finds its origin in Central and South America, from Mexico to Argentina.
Characteristics
These plants are striking due to their colourful leaves, which are silvery in colour with purple and green hues. The Tradescantia Sweetness can reach a height of about 30-60 centimetres. It is a fast grower with hanging stems, making it very suitable as a room or hanging plant. The small white flowers the plant produces are less noticeable.
Care
The Tradescantia Sweetness prefers a lot of indirect light, but can also survive in semi-shade. The plant requires regular watering, but will not do well if kept too wet, good drainage is therefore important. It is a robust plant that can withstand various environments, but the ideal temperature is between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. For the best possible growth, it is recommended to fertilise the plant regularly, especially during the growing period.
