Euphorbia cooperi (70-80)
Branched
4EUCOKK32
Origin
The Euphorbia ingens, also known as the Cowboy Cactus, originates from subtropical and tropical regions of Africa. The plant belongs to the Euphorbiaceae family and thrives in high temperatures and little rainfall.
Characteristics
Characteristic of the Euphorbia ingens is its branched structure that makes it resemble a cactus, although it is technically not a cactus. In the wild, the plant can grow up to 12 metres high. The leaves are small, quite rare, and fall off quickly. The plant carries small yellow flowers and produces triangular fruits.
Care
The Euphorbia ingens requires little care. With well-draining soil and a warm, sunny location, the plant can grow well. Overwatering should be avoided as the plant can quickly drown. In the winter months, it is advisable to keep the plant indoors as it is not frost-tolerant. When repotting, caution is required because the milky sap can irritate the skin and eyes.
