Origin
Euphorbia tortilis originates from the southern part of Africa. The species naturally grows in dry, rocky areas. It is a plant well-adapted to a warm and arid climate. The species belongs to the Euphorbia genus, which includes more than 2,000 species.
Characteristics
Euphorbia tortilis reaches a height of approximately 60 to 70 cm. The plant is characterised by its branched, grey-green stems with a twisting growth habit. The stems have small spines and sometimes minimal remnants of leaves. The plant produces small, inconspicuous flowers in the leaf axils.
Care
Euphorbia tortilis prefers a position with plenty of light. The plant thrives in well-draining, sandy soil. It has a low water requirement, so the soil can dry out completely between waterings. The minimum temperature for healthy growth is around 10 degrees Celsius.
