Origin
The Agave stricta 'Nana' is a small variety of the Agave stricta, a succulent of origin from the semi-desert areas of Mexico. This species thrives on rocky hills or slopes with high drainage, where conditions are dry and sunny.

Characteristics
The Agave stricta 'Nana', also known as Dwarf Hedgehog Agave, is striking for its tight, sharply pointed leaves that arrange in a symmetrical rosette. The leaves are dark green with a slight red tint on the edges, which gives the plant a unique appearance. The mature plant reaches a height of approximately 45-60 cm and a width of 60-75 cm. After many years, the plant can produce a flowering stem of about 2.5 meters high with bright red flowers.

Care
Caring for an Agave stricta 'Nana' requires well-draining soil and a sunny location, such as a south or west window. Moderate watering is necessary during the growing period from spring to autumn, after which the plant only requires occasional watering in the winter. Although the plant is tolerant of lower temperatures, it is recommended to overwinter in a frost-free environment.
