Origin
The Tillandsia Super Silver XL, better known as the air plant, originates from the forests, mountains, and deserts of Central and South America. It belongs to the Bromeliaceae family, which includes over 650 species of plants. This remarkable plant is accustomed to extreme weather conditions, enabling it to adapt and thrive in a diverse range of environments.
Characteristics
The Tillandsia Super Silver XL is a unique decorative plant, characterised by its silver colour, thick and soft feathers. Unlike most plants, it does not require roots to survive. It uses its specialised scales, known as trichomes, to absorb water and nutrients from the air. The air plant prefers to grow in a light place without direct sunlight.
Care
The care of the Tillandsia Super Silver XL is simple and requires little effort. Watering is rarely necessary, as the plant is capable of absorbing moisture from the air. Spraying the plant with water can, however, help it to survive in drier conditions. Although the plant tolerates a wide range of environmental conditions, they are happiest in a warm, well-ventilated room with plenty of indirect light. It is important to remember that the air plant should not be kept in full sun, as this can burn the leaves.
