Brassia Black Pearl
1-Branch Red/Yellow
F00000017
Origin
The Oncidium Cherry Baby is a hybrid orchid that was created by crossing different Oncidium species. This plant has been cultivated in nurseries and does not originally occur in the wild. Despite its refined appearance, the Oncidium Cherry Baby can be traced back to the wild orchids from the Neotropical zones of Central and South America.
Characteristics
A striking feature of the Oncidium Cherry Baby is the dot-like pattern on the petals. The flowers range from deep red to light pink, while the heart of the flower is a golden yellow colour. This orchid distinguishes itself with its strongly scented flowers. The height of a fully grown Oncidium Cherry Baby varies between 35 and 60 cm, with the numerous flowers growing in clusters on upright stems.
Care
The Oncidium Cherry Baby must have a light position, but direct sunlight should be avoided. The plant likes a high humidity and the soil must be kept constantly lightly moist. During the growth period, a temperature between 18 and 25 degrees Celsius is ideal for the plant's development. During the rest period, a temperature between 15 and 18 degrees Celsius is recommended.
