Origin
The Vriesea Intenso Yellow Flame, also known under another name, originates from the tropical rainforest of Central and South America. The plant family to which this plant belongs, the Bromeliad family, is prevalent in these regions. The name is a tribute to the Dutch botanist Willem Hendrik de Vriese.
Characteristics
The Vriesea Intenso Yellow Flame can be easily recognised by its striking yellow flower, which has the shape of a flame. The plant is green in colour and has long, lance-shaped leaves that grow in a rosette shape. Mature specimens reach an average height of 50 to 60 centimetres. The blooming period of this plant is usually early in the spring and can last several months.
Care
In caring for the Vriesea Intenso Yellow Flame, it is important to know that this plant prefers humid conditions and cannot tolerate direct sunlight. To increase the humidity, the plant can be regularly sprayed with water. Watering should be done at the rosette of the plant. Furthermore, this plant requires a temperature between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius.
