Origin
The Echeveria Blue Prince is a succulent plant which has its origin in Mexico. It belongs to the Crassulaceae family, one of the most diverse families in the plant world. Its natural habitat consists of dry, rocky environments where it can withstand high temperatures and limited water supply.
Characteristics
This species carries the distinctive rosette-shaped leaves of the Echeveria species, but its primary distinctive characteristic is its deep blue colour with lighter edges. The leaves are thick and fleshy, indicating that they can hold water. The Blue Prince also produces flowers in the spring, usually in orange or red shades, that rise above the leaf rosette.
Care
The Echeveria Blue Prince needs plenty of sunlight but also requires some shade to prevent the leaves from burning. The soil needs to be well draining to prevent water from remaining in the pot. It is advisable to water the plant only when the soil is completely dry to prevent rot. Feed the plant every two months with a standard houseplant fertilizer during the growing season. Care must be taken when moving the plant to avoid damaging the leaves.
