DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Vriesea Multiflower Sky originates from the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. This plant belongs to the Bromeliad family, with species usually growing in the shadow of trees. Named after the Dutch botanist Willem Hendrik de Vriese, the Vriesea Multiflower Sky can be found in the wild in areas with a warm, humid climate.

Characteristics
What is notable about the Vriesea Multiflower Sky is the long flower stem with multiple branches that rise from the heart of the plant. On the branches grow small, red flowers whose bright colour contrasts with the dark green leaves. The leaves are long, flat, and pointed, forming a rosette. Generally, the plant reaches a height of 30 to 40 cm.

Care
The Vriesea Multiflower Sky thrives best in indirect sunlight and cannot tolerate direct sunlight. The ideal room temperature is between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius. It is an epiphytic plant, which means it is happiest when the humidity is higher. Watering is preferably done in the cup of the plant, rather than on the soil. The plant does not need surplus nutrition. However, periodic thin fertilising with a water-soluble fertiliser is appreciated.
