Origin
The Cryptomeria japonica, also known as the Japanese cedar, is a native tree from Japan. The tree has a long history in its native country and is a symbol of strength and durability there. The tree can be found from northern Honshu to southern Kyushu, in the hills and mountains.

Characteristics
Cryptomeria japonica is an evergreen conifer that can grow into a majestic tree from 70 to a rarely height of 100 meters. The bark of the tree is reddish-brown and naturally flakes off. The needles are arranged in a spiral and are about 1 cm long. The cones are spherical and contain numerous triangular seeds.

Care
The Cryptomeria japonica is a robust and durable tree that is well resistant to various weather conditions. It has a preference for moist, well-drained soil and enjoys full sun to partial shade.
