Origin
The Hoya Kerrii, also known as the Sweetheart plant, originates from Southeast Asia. This unique plant primarily grows in the rainforests of Thailand, China, Vietnam and Indonesia. This exotic specimen is accustomed to a warm, humid climate with indirect sunlight, hence its preference for semi-shady conditions.

Characteristics
The Hoya Kerrii is best known for its striking leaf shape, which strongly resembles a heart. The plant has thick, waxy leaves that are fleshy and juicy. The distinctive heart shape is only achieved in the juvenile stage of the plant, which contributes to its charm and popularity. In the flowering stage, the Hoya Kerrii produces clusters of star-like, white flowers with a red core that emit a sweet, chocolate-like fragrance.

Care
Caring for the Hoya Kerrii requires some attention and understanding of the plant's natural habitat. It grows best at temperatures between 18 and 27 degrees Celsius and prefers indirect sunlight. Watering should be moderate and the soil should be almost completely dried out before watering again. Overwatering can lead to root rot, which is detrimental to the plant.
