Origin
The xGasterhaworthia 'Royal Highness' is a hybrid plant species, resulting from the cross of two different genera: Gasteria and Haworthia. This cross was first realized in cultivated environments, as the two parent species do not naturally grow in close proximity to each other. Therefore, it is an artificially created species, formed through human intervention.

Characteristics
The 'Royal Highness' is a succulent plant, which means it has adapted to store water in its leaves, stems or roots. The distinct characteristic of the 'Royal Highness' is its rosette shape, with elongated, dark green leaves that often have somewhat reddish or brownish tinges at the ends. It also has notches along the edges of the leaves that produce a small amount of white fibres. A flower stem can eventually grow from the middle of the rosette, where small, inconspicuous flowers appear.

Care
Just like other succulents, the xGasterhaworthia 'Royal Highness' requires well-draining soil and a planter with drainage holes to prevent standing water. It is a light-loving plant species but must be shielded from the direct sun during the hottest hours of the day to prevent leaf burn. Regarding watering, it is important to remember that overwatering is more harmful than underwatering. During winter, watering and general care can be reduced, as the plant is in a dormant phase.
