Origin
The Aglaonema 'Silver King', also known as the Chinese evergreen, originates from the tropical and subtropical Southeast Asia. The plant is primarily found in the heavily wooded areas of Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia. It is an ornamental plant from the Araceae family, widely used in interior design due to its attractive appearance and easy care.

Characteristics
The Aglaonema 'Silver King' is characterised by its beautiful shiny leaves with a striking silver-grey colouring. Each leaf has a unique pattern of silver-grey spots and streaks across the dark green surface. The plant grows quite slowly, but can eventually reach a height of between 50 and 100 centimeters. Under optimal growth conditions, the plant produces small inflorescence, consisting of a small, pale bract with numerous tiny flowers inside.

Care
The Aglaonema 'Silver King' prefers a place with plenty of indirect light but can also survive in a dark environment. However, an ideal situation for the plant would be one in which it can benefit from filtered sunlight. The plant thrives best in relatively high humidity and has moderate water needs. Generally, the plant should be watered when the top inch or two of the soil feels dry. It's important to ensure good drainage to prevent root rot.
