Origin
The Dracaena fragrans 'Charley', also known as the corn plant, finds its origin in tropical Africa. Almost all Dracaena species are originally from Africa and some parts of South Asia. The plant thrives in the climate of these regions, particularly the high humidity, the restraint light and the warm temperatures.

Characteristics
The Dracaena fragrans 'Charley' is a slow-growing plant that can reach an average height of one to three metres. It has long, broad leaves that have a glossy green colour and grow outwards from the central trunk. This type of plant is characterised by its unique flowering pattern where the flowers often open at night time. The flowers are fragrant, hence the Latin name 'fragrans'.

Care
In terms of the care of the Dracaena fragrans 'Charley', it is important to know that this plant thrives in indirect sunlight. The plant requires little maintenance and is resistant to dry air, although higher humidity can stimulate growth. Watering moderately once a week is sufficient, but make sure the soil dries out well between watering to prevent root rot. The plant prefers room or slightly warmer temperatures.
