Origin
The Pleomele reflexa 'Song of Jamaica', better known as Dracaena reflexa, is a type of indoor plant that originally comes from Madagascar and nearby islands in the Indian Ocean. The plant belongs to the Asparagaceae family.

Characteristics
This plant is known for its distinct leaves that are rich in colour, typically in various shades of green with shoots of yellow. The leaves are glossy, lanceolate and arranged spirally around the trunk, creating an attractive effect. The 'Song of Jamaica' can grow up to 3 metres high when cultivated indoors, but can get even bigger outdoors.

Care
The 'Song of Jamaica' needs moderately light to semi-shady places, without direct sunlight. It is recommended to water the plant regularly, but overwatering should be avoided as this can lead to root rot. Well-draining potting soil is ideal and it is useful to feed the plant occasionally with a moderate amount of liquid fertiliser. This plant can handle dry air well, but appreciates being spritzed occasionally with lukewarm water.
