Product number : 1RHEXTU29
DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Rhapis excelsa, better known as the Lady Palm or Bamboo Palm, has its origin in southern China and Taiwan. The plant naturally grows in the shady underground layers of the rainforests. In the 17th century, the Rhapis excelsa was introduced in Japan, where they affectionately called the plant 'the Bamboo Palm’ due to its similarities with bamboo.

Characteristics
The Rhapis excelsa is characterised by its elegantly shaped, glossy leaves that consist of different segments. The trunk of the plant is covered with fibrous, brown shoots, which resemble bamboo, hence the nickname 'bamboo palm'. The plant remains relatively small compared to other palms, with a maximum height of about 4 meters under optimal growth conditions. When kept indoors in a pot, the plant often remains smaller, reaching a height of about 2 meters.

Care
The Rhapis excelsa thrives best at a temperature between 15 and 24 degrees Celsius. The plant prefers a shady or semi-shady location, as it also grows in shady parts of the forest in nature. The Rhapis excelsa prefers well-draining soil and should be watered regularly, but without letting the roots stand in water for too long. Overall, the Rhapis excelsa is an easy-to-care-for plant that is well adapted to indoor living.
