Origin
The Dracaena surculosa 'Mike' has its origin in West Africa, specifically in the countries of Ivory Coast, Ghana, and Cameroon. Here, the plant grows in lowlands and flatlands, usually in places with high humidity. This plant species belongs to the Asparagaceae family and is related to the Yucca and Agave plants.

Characteristics
Dracaena surculosa 'Mike' is characterised by its long, fine, and colourful leaves. The leaves are usually yellow-green with a mosaic of light and dark green, which gives the plant its distinctive appearance. The plant can, depending on the conditions, grow quite tall, sometimes up to 3 meters. It is also known by the name Dracaena Gold Dust, due to its attractive leaf pattern.

Care

Care for this plant is relatively simple. The Dracaena surculosa 'Mike' requires light to semi-shade and thrives best in moist but well-draining soil. It is advised to water the plant regularly, but excessive water should be avoided to prevent root rot. Less water can be given in the winter. There is no specific nutrient requirement, but feeding with a general pot plant fertiliser can promote healthy growth.
