Origin
The Philodendron 'Imperial Red' is a striking houseplant that finds its origin in South America. More specifically, this green friend comes from the rainforests of Brazil where it grows in the shelter of larger trees and plants.

Characteristics
The Philodendron 'Imperial Red' is known for its striking red, almost purple, leaves. Young leaves still have a red hue, but as the Philodendron ages, the colour of the leaves changes to a dark green. The plant is characterised by its broad leaves and compact growth habit, making it perfect for low to the ground decoration in the home.

Care
The Philodendron 'Imperial Red' is an easy plant to care for. It likes a spot with indirect light and is satisfied with slightly moist soil; the plant therefore requires moderate watering. Feed the plant with some plant fertiliser in the spring and summer to stimulate growth. It is recommended to not place the plant in direct sunlight, but still in a well-lit room.
