Asplenium 'Amy' 6/tray
Bush
4ASARBP10
Origin
Asplenium dimorphum 'Parvati', also known as the Parvati fern, traces its origin back to the tropical forests of Asia. This plant belongs to the Aspleniaceae family, a group of ferns characterised by their feathery leaves. It's interesting to note that 'Parvati' refers to a Hindu goddess, who symbolises fertility, love and devotion.
Characteristics
Asplenium dimorphum 'Parvati' is a miniature fern with striking green, lance-shaped leaves that provide a lovely contrast with its slender dark stems. It is a slow-growing, perennial plant that can reach up to 30 centimetres in height. This fern prefers partial shade, where its rich, slightly glossy leaves create a beautiful visual effect.
Care
The Asplenium dimorphum 'Parvati' requires a well-draining, evenly moist soil and thrives at a temperature between 16 and 24 degrees Celsius. The plant should be watered by misting, preferably with lime-free water to prevent leaf scorch. Direct sunlight can damage the leaves, so a spot in partial shade or indirect sunlight is ideal. Like most ferns, the 'Parvati' enjoys high humidity, so it is advisable to place this fern in a bathroom or kitchen, or regularly humidify the surrounding air.
