DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Asplenium antiquum, also known as the Bird's nest fern, is a fern species that originates from East Asia. This plant mainly grows in warm, humid forest areas. The fern is found in the wild in countries such as Japan, Taiwan and China, often on high rocks or in trees.

Characteristics
The Asplenium antiquum is known for its characteristic green, glossy leaves that are oval to elliptical in shape. The leaves can grow up to 50 centimetres long. This fern grows in a very specific way, namely towards the middle, giving it a nest-like appearance. This gives it its English name, the Bird's nest fern.

Care
This forest dweller enjoys a humid environment, which means that the Asplenium antiquum needs regular watering, but should not be left standing in water. The plant does well in indirect light and temperatures between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius. The Asplenium antiquum is sensitive to too much light and cold, so these conditions should be avoided for optimal growth.
