DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Begonia 'Indian Summer' is a cultivar within the large family of Begoniaceae, which includes more than 1800 different species. The origin of this specific variety is not completely traceable, but it is generally known that begonias mainly come from tropical and subtropical areas.

Characteristics
The Begonia 'Indian Summer' is characterised by its striking colour. The leaves of this plant have a distinctive bronzy tint, with a subtle shimmer that brings to mind a summer sunset. In the summer and the early autumn, the 'Indian Summer’ blooms with abundant clusters of small, delicate, red flowers. The plant itself has a compact, bushy growth habit and can reach a height of about 35 cm.

Care
The Begonia 'Indian Summer' doesn't have many requirements for its care. It prefers a bright spot, but can also be situated in partial shade. Avoid direct, bright sunlight, as the Begonia 'Indian Summer' does not cope well with these conditions. The plant likes consistently moist soil, but be careful to avoid waterlogging. Overwatering can lead to root rot. It is recommended to regularly feed the plant with a balanced fertiliser during the growing season to support healthy growth. In the winter, the water supply and fertilisation can be reduced.
