Origin
The Euphorbia triangularis is originally from South Africa. It can be found in the Cape region, where it grows on dry and rocky slopes. The plant is part of the Euphorbiaceae family, which includes over 2000 different species.
Characteristics
The Euphorbia triangularis is a compact and upright plant that can grow up to four meters tall. The plant has a triangular trunk, hence its name. The many branches and the green-blue colour of the trunk are characteristic. The plant produces small, green flowers in late spring or early summer.
Care
The Euphorbia triangularis tolerates drought well and needs little water. It is important that the plant is placed in well-draining soil to prevent root rot. The plant needs a lot of light, but needs to be protected from bright, direct sunlight in summer. In winter, the plant can be kept at a minimum temperature of 10°C.
