Origin
The Ficus elastica 'Tineke', also known as the rubber plant, originates from Southeast Asia. The plant is originally a tropical forest plant and has spread to many parts of the world due to its graceful appearance and adaptability.

Characteristics
The Ficus elastica 'Tineke' is characterised by its large, oval-shaped leaves, which can grow up to 30 cm long. This variety is special due to its leaves, which are variegated in various shades of green with cream and pink. The leaves are covered with a sort of wax layer, giving them a shiny appearance. The plant can reach indoor conditions of up to 2 meters in height, although it grows much larger in the wild.

Care
For the care of the Ficus elastica 'Tineke', it is important that it is positioned in a bright spot, but not in direct sunlight. The plant requires a consistent, moderately high humidity and well-draining potting soil. Too much water is damaging to the plant, making it important to allow the soil to almost completely dry out between watering. Fertilisation is only needed once a month during the growing season.
