Origin
The Humata tyermannii, also known as the rabbit's foot fern, is a species of fern that originates from Australia. This fern can be found chiefly in damp forests and on cliff walls where they grow in the shade. The plant has evolved to withstand often harsh conditions.

Characteristics
Humata tyermannii is an epiphytic type, meaning that the plant grows on other plants, without extracting nutrients from the host plant. The plant is characterised by its fern-like green leaves and distinctive hairy, fleshy and creeping rhizomes, hence the nickname 'rabbit's foot fern'. The leaves of the Humata tyermannii are deep-cut and can grow up to 60 centimetres long.

Care
This fern species requires a relatively high humidity level and indirect light, but does not tolerate direct sunlight. The ideal temperature for the plant is between 16 and 24 degrees Celsius. For optimal growth, it is important to keep the soil constantly moist and regularly fertilize it. Damage to the plant can occur at temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius. In winter, experts advise a cooler location and a reduction in watering.
