Origin
The Myrtillocactus geometrizans originates from a cactus found in Central and North America. They are particularly common in the dry areas of Mexico. This plant belongs to the family of Cactaceae, also known as the cactus family.

Characteristics
Myrtillocactus geometrizans is characterised by its blue-green, dense ribs and its cylindrical shape which branches out as the plant gets older. The plant can reach a height of 4 to 5 metres and has white flowers that appear in the spring, followed by purple-black, edible berries. This plant, also known as the Whortleberry Cactus, has sharp spines spread over its waxy surface.

Care
The care of the Myrtillocactus geometrizans mainly focuses on sufficient sunlight, as it is a plant that naturally grows in the sun. They also need well-drained soil to prevent overwatering - a sandy cactus mix is ideal. In terms of temperature, the Myrtillocactus geometrizans can withstand lower temperatures down to about -6 degrees Celsius, but it's best that the temperature does not drop too often. During their growth in the spring and summer, they need regular watering, but in the winter, the soil can dry out between waterings.
