Origin
The Opuntia microdasys 'Undulata', also known as the Bunny Ears cactus, originates from northern and central Mexico. The plant has been introduced to many other parts of the world and is often found in desert environments, due to its high drought tolerance.

Characteristics
Opuntia microdasys 'Undulata' is a popular, decorative cactus that stands out due to its distinctive bumps and elongated, oval shape. The cactus is characterized by its compact growth and disc-shaped stem segments covered with small, soft spikes. These spikes, strikingly yellow in colour, form clusters resembling the ears of a rabbit, hence the nickname 'Bunny Ears'. In spring and summer, the cactus can produce vibrant yellow flowers that sharply contrast with the bright green foliage.

Care
When caring for the Opuntia microdasys 'Undulata', it is important to consider its preference for sunny conditions and limited water needs. Ideally, the plant should be placed in a well-draining soil mixture to prevent root rot. Furthermore, this cactus has little need for fertilisation, usually being sufficient once a year.
