DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Pachypodium geayi is a species originally from Madagascar. This plant grows in the wild in the dry and warm southern regions of the island. Due to this origin, the plant is also referred to as the Madagascar palm.

Characteristics
The Pachypodium geayi, also known as the Madagascar palm, is primarily characterised by its thick trunk, reminiscent of the shape of a palm tree. This plant has long, slender leaves and long spikes on the trunk and branches. Moreover, the plant produces beautiful white flowers in the summer. However, despite the outward resemblance, the plant is not a real palm, but belongs to the succulent family.

Care
The Pachypodium geayi is a plant that requires a sunny to semi-shaded location and well-draining soil. It cannot tolerate cold and therefore needs to be kept indoors during the winter. Moreover, during the growing season, it is necessary to water the plant regularly, but it is important to prevent the soil from becoming too wet, in order to avoid root rot. In the winter, when the plant rests, watering should be significantly reduced.
