Origin
The Pachycereus pringlei, also known as the Cardón, has its origins in the northwest of Mexico. This plant is primarily found in desert areas like the Sonora Desert. This area is known for its arid conditions, and the Pachycereus pringlei has adapted to these conditions over the years.

Characteristics
The Pachycereus pringlei is known as the tallest cactus species in the world. It can grow up to 20 metres tall. Typical are the massive trunks and branches that sprout from the ground. The trunks have grooves with sharp spines. The flowers of the Pachycereus pringlei are white and about 5 centimetres in diameter. They open in the evening and close again at sunrise.

Care
The Pachycereus pringlei requires little care as it is adapted to severe drought conditions. Adequate sunlight is important as it is a plant from the desert. In terms of watering, the plant only needs sparse water as it stores water well in its trunks. It is advised not to water at all in the winter. For the type of soil, it is recommended to choose a well-draining variety, such as cactus soil.
