Origin
The Aralia (Polyscias) 'Roble' is originally a tropical plant from the Polynesian region, particularly from areas like Hawaii. This species is also popularly known as the indoor Aralia due to its popularity as a houseplant.
Characteristics
The Aralia 'Roble' is characterized by its unique leaves, which are deeply notched and very ornamental. They are typically dark green in colour, sometimes sporting a lighter shade of green at the centre. The plant is largely woody and can eventually attain considerable height, although in nature it usually does not grow taller than a metre and a half. This plant does not bear any flowers or fruits.
Care
The care of the Aralia 'Roble' involves sufficiently, but not excessively, watering the plant; the soil should be able to dry out between waterings. The plant is not particularly demanding when it comes to light, although indirect sunlight is recommended. Constant warm temperature and air circulation promote the plant's health and growth. It is important to feed the plant once a year with a general fertiliser to stimulate growth.
