Origin
The Sansevieria kirkii 'Friends', also known as Snake Plant, has its roots in West Africa. The plant belongs to the Asparagaceae family and has spread from Africa all over the world. This plant gets its nickname Snake Plant due to the distinctive shape of its leaves.

Characteristics
The Sansevieria kirkii 'Friends' is easy to identify by its long, pointed leaves with a pattern of dark green and light green stripes. These stripes run horizontally across the leaves, giving the plant a striped appearance. The leaves grow straight up and can reach a height of up to 90 centimetres. The plant grows relatively slowly, but is very resilient and durable.

Care
The Sansevieria kirkii 'Friends' requires little maintenance, making it a popular indoor plant. It can handle both direct sunlight and shade, although it performs best in indirect sunlight. Although the Snake Plant is quite drought tolerant, it prefers even, moderately moist soil. Overwatering can cause root rot, so it's important to allow the soil to dry between waterings. It is recommended to lightly fertilise this plant once a month during the growing season.
