DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Senecio peregrinus, also known as the 'String of Dolphins', originates from South Africa. The plant was catalogued as part of the Senecio genus, which has over a thousand species worldwide ranging from annuals to perennials, shrubs and small trees.

Characteristics
The Senecio peregrinus is characterised by its large aerial roots and fin-like shapes, which are reminiscent of a school of dolphins. The small, blue-green leaves are oval in shape and surprisingly resemble leaping dolphins. The plant can reach a length of up to 15 cm and produces small, white and fragrant flowers in the spring.

Care
The Senecio peregrinus requires moderate, indirect sunlight and is preferably planted in well-draining soil to prevent root rot. The plant needs a rest period in the winter, during which less water is required. The best growth process can be achieved at room temperatures between 15 and 22 degrees Celsius. Though the plant has a moderate drought tolerance, regular, light watering is ideal to get the best out of the plant.
