Origin
The Agave parryi, also known as Parry's Agave, is originally an agave species from the Southwestern United States and Northern Mexico. It primarily grows in mountainous desert areas at altitudes between 4,000 and 8,000 feet, where the climate is cool and dry.

Characteristics
Agave parryi can be identified by its compact rosette of thick, greyish to blue, pointed leaves, fringed with serrated edges and ending in a sharp point. The plant has a slow growth but can eventually reach a diameter of up to 90 centimetres. The unique characteristic of the Agave parryi is its impressive blooming stalk that can grow up to 6 meters long, which produces flowers with reddish to orange colours.

Care
The Agave parryi requires a lot of sunlight and can excellently cope with drought. It is advisable to place the plant in well-draining soil to prevent root rot. Given the plant's original environment, it can withstand cold and can even tolerate temperatures down to -10 degrees Celsius. Watering should be very moderate, especially in the winter months to avoid excessive humidity.
