Origin
The Aloe marlothii, also known as the Mountain Aloe, originates from Southern Africa. The plant is predominantly found in regions such as Botswana, Mozambique, South Africa, and Swaziland. It's a typical species of the African savanna, often growing in rocky areas with well-draining soil.

Characteristics
The Aloe marlothii is a large, multi-trunked species that can reach a height of 6 meters. This succulent plant has grey-green leaves that can grow up to 1.5 meters in length. Notably, this aloe has dense, brown spines on the underside and along the edges of the leaves. Its bloom is branched, often featuring orange, red or yellow flowers that appear throughout the year, although they are most prominent during the winter months.

Care
While the Aloe marlothii grows under dry conditions in the wild, it requires regular watering in well-adapted gardens. Despite this plant's high tolerance for drought, it performs better with moist summers and dry winters. It prefers full sun but can also be grown in light shade. The Aloe marlothii is fairly frost-resilient and can survive low temperatures down to -4°C. It is important to use well-draining soil to prevent root rot.
