Anthurium 'Dorayaki'
Product number : F00004262Origin
The Anthurium 'Dorayaki' originates from the Anthurium genus, native to Central and South America. The 'Dorayaki' variant was developed through selective plant breeding, resulting in this specific cultivar. The name 'Dorayaki' refers to a Japanese pancake due to the shape of the flowers.
Characteristics
The Anthurium 'Dorayaki' is characterised by its large, shiny, heart-shaped leaves, often deeply green in colour. The plant produces striking flowers which can be red, pink, white, orange, purple or green, depending on the specific variant. The flowers are long-lasting and bloom practically all year round. They are set on strong stems that rise above the leaves and are divided by a white spadix.
Care
The care for the Anthurium 'Dorayaki' involves providing the plant with a light position, but avoiding direct sunlight. The 'Dorayaki' prefers a humid, warm atmosphere, like the tropical plants from its origin. When it comes to watering, it is important to let the plant slightly dry out before watering again. It also isn't hardy against frost, so a minimum temperature of 15 degrees Celsius is recommended. Further, the plant is fond of being fed with fertiliser during the spring and summer.
