Origin
The Sansevieria trifasciata 'Black Diamond' originates from West Africa. It primarily grows in the dry, savannah-like regions of Nigeria to Congo. The Sansevieria trifasciata 'Black Diamond' has now spread worldwide as a houseplant and is known by several names, including Snake Plant.
Characteristics
The Sansevieria trifasciata 'Black Diamond' is a succulent, perennial plant. It is characterised by its dark green, almost black, elongated leaves with subtle horizontal stripes. The leaves grow from a thick, fleshy rhizome. The 'Black Diamond' can grow to a height of approximately 90 cm and rarely produces flowers in domestic conditions.
Care
The Sansevieria trifasciata 'Black Diamond' is an easy plant to care for. It prefers light to semi-shaded places and can also grow under artificial light. The soil must be well-draining to prevent root rot. Watering is moderately required during the summer growth phase, during winter the soil can completely dry out between waterings. In general, this plant is resistant to most diseases and pests.
