Origin
The Sansevieria cy. sp. 'Velvet Touchz' 8/tray, also known as the snake plant, originates from the African continent. More specifically, this type of plant is often found in West Africa where it grows in the wilderness in dry, rocky environments. The plant belongs to the Asparagaceae family and is naturally adapted to grow in dry and warm climates.

Characteristics
The 'Velvet Touchz' is known for its decorative, shiny and sturdy leaves with a subtle texture. This particular variant has dark green leaves that are characterized by a light wave pattern and yellow edges. The plant is a succulent, meaning that it stores water in its thick, fleshy leaves to survive drought periods. A fully grown 'Velvet Touchz' can grow up to a length of 70 cm.

Care
In terms of care, the 'Velvet Touchz' requires little maintenance both in terms of watering and light requirements. The plant is content with a light position, but direct sunlight should be avoided to prevent leaf burn. The plant needs little water and overwatering can even cause root rot. It is therefore recommended to allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. The plant does not have high demands in terms of humidity and is perfect for keeping indoors, thanks to its high tolerance for dry indoor air.
