Origin
The Rhipsalis cereuscula, also known as the coral cactus, has its origin in Central and South America and is today primarily found in the tropical rainforests of Brazil. It belongs to the cactus family and the genus Rhipsalis, which counts almost 40 species worldwide.

Characteristics
The Rhipsalis cereuscula is characterised by its coral-like growth habit, with hanging stems speckled with small bud-like protrusions. These stems can reach a length of around 60 cm. Unlike many other cactus species, the coral cactus does not have thorns. It flowers in the spring with small, inconspicuous white flowers that later transform into red or purple fruits.

Care
For the care of the Rhipsalis cereuscula, it is important to know that, despite its family ties to the cactus, it prefers indirect sunlight and high humidity. The soil should always be slightly moist, but overwatering can cause rot. The plant needs a moderate temperature, ideally between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius. Due to its hanging growth habit, the Rhipsalis cereuscula is particularly suitable for hanging pots or elevated planters.
