DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Arenga engleri, also known as the Dwarf Sugar Palm, originates from the forests of East Asia. This palm species mainly grows on the islands in the Pacific, such as Taiwan and the Philippines, where it is warm and humid.

Characteristics
The Arenga engleri is a robust, small palm with deep green, feathery leaves. It is a slow growing plant that can reach up to 4 meters in height. It is also characterised by small clusters of black fruits that the palm produces, indicating its relationship with the date palm. This plant grows from a short, thick trunk that is very fibrous, a typical characteristic of the Arenga species.

Care
The Arenga engleri requires a well-drained soil and is very frost resistant. Ensure a location in partial shade to full sun and keep the soil slightly dry between watering. Regular spraying with leaf spray is recommended to keep the plant in optimal condition. The palm should also be regularly misted to maintain high humidity levels. The palm has shallow roots and has little requirement for soil structure.
