DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Peperomia prostrata, finds its origin in Central and South America. Here, the plant grows in tropical rainforests, mainly in the shady undergrowth. The natural habitat of the Peperomia prostrata extends from Brazil to Peru.

Characteristics
The Peperomia prostrata is a small, distinctive species recognised by its round, succulent leaves which carry the colour of jade with dark leaf veins. They are approximately 1 cm in size and are located on red stalks which give the plant an extra elegant appearance. The plant has a creeping growth habit and forms a green carpet in no time.

Care
The Peperomia prostrata requires relatively little care, but does like a light location without direct sunlight. Water should be given sparingly, as the plant is sensitive to over-watering. The ground must first dry out slightly before giving water again. The plant copes well with dry air and does not require high humidity, although it does appreciate this. Nutrition is not necessary but can promote growth. A light dose during the growing season suffices.
