Origin
The Sedum morganianum 'Burrito', also known as the Donkey tail, originates from South Mexico and Honduras. Here, it grows in the semi-shade on rocky soil. The plant was first described in the late 19th century by an American botanist, who mainly conducted research on the cactus family.

Characteristics
The most striking features of the Sedum morganianum 'Burrito' are the long, hanging stems that are studded with small, sturdy leaves. The leaves are a blue-green colour, fleshy, and elongated in shape. They grow close together, making the stems appear rather thick. The plant blooms in spring with small, pink or red flowers that grow on short stalks.

Care
The Sedum morganianum 'Burrito' requires little care. It thrives in a light location but doesn't like direct sunlight. While it can tolerate humidity, it dislikes having 'wet feet'. Therefore, it's important that it is planted in well-draining soil. Watering should be moderated, especially in the winter when the plant is dormant. Overwatering can lead to root and stem rot. Due to its growth habits, the Sedum morganianum 'Burrito' is very suitable as a hanging plant. During summer, it can hang outside providing it is protected from harsh sunlight and rain. Fertilising once a year with a suitable product promotes the plant's growth and flowering.
