DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Croton (Codiaeum) variegatum 'Petra' 10/tray is originally from the tropical regions of Southeast Asia and the islands in the Pacific Ocean. The plant is also known as 'Joseph's Coat'. Like many tropical species, the Croton thrives best under warm, humid and light conditions.

Characteristics
The Croton is an evergreen, deciduous shrub. The plant is characterised by its variegated, colourful leaves that can be a mixture of green, red, orange, yellow and sometimes even purple. The leaves are glossy and leathery, giving them a striking appearance. The Croton 'Petra' has an upright growth habit and can reach a height of 3 metres under ideal conditions.

Care
The care of the Croton 'Petra' requires a specific approach. The plant has a preference for a bright, indirect light environment, but must be protected from the full midday sun. It is also important to water the plant regularly, but only after the top layer of the soil has slightly dried out. Overwatering can however cause root rot and should be avoided. Moderate humidity is also recommended for optimal growth of the plant.
