Origin
The Gasteria 'D Due', a variety of the Gasteria species, originates from South Africa. Its natural habitat consists of dry, rocky areas and beautifully lush semi-deserts. This succulent, part of the Asphodelaceae family, is also known from its homeland as the pearl of South Africa.
Characteristics
The Gasteria 'D Due' is distinguished by its compact and upright growth. This attractive houseplant has thick, elongated, dark green leaves arranged in a rosette-shaped growth form. The leaves are covered with white spots and stripes, giving it a unique and fascinating appearance. The Gasteria 'D Due' rarely produces flowers in late spring or early summer, which are hanging bell-shaped blossoms.
Care
The Gasteria 'D Due' is relatively easy to care for, making it ideal for both novice and experienced growers. It prefers bright, indirect light and does not fare well in direct sunlight, which can burn the leaves. It requires well-draining soil and should only be watered again once the top layer of soil has dried out. Overwatering can lead to root rot. Due to its original desert habitat, the Gasteria 'D Due' can survive in dry air and rarely requires additional humidification.
