DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Aglaonema 'Emerald Stone' originally hails from the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia. Here, the plant developed beneath the canopy of taller trees, giving it the ability to survive in low light conditions. It was first discovered by growers in the Western world in the nineteenth century and is now grown as a houseplant worldwide.

Characteristics
The distinctive characteristic of the Aglaonema 'Emerald Stone' is the colourful variation of green hues on its leaves, which lends the plant its name. The leaves are broad and carry a glossy, almost waxy texture. The plant grows relatively slowly and can reach a height of 30 to 50 cm. In its natural environment, the plant can occasionally produce small white flowers.

Care
As you would expect from a plant with a tropical origin, the Aglaonema 'Emerald Stone' prefers a warm and slightly moist environment. Indirect sunlight is ideal, as direct sunlight can damage the leaves. The soil in which the plant is placed should be kept consistently moist, but not saturated. In terms of fertilisation, a balanced liquid fertiliser, once a month during the growth period, is sufficient.
