Euphorbia Balsamifera
Branched
4EUBAS020
Origin
The Euphorbia ingens, also known as the candelabra tree, originates from South Africa. It grows in semi-arid areas and is adapted to severe drought and high temperatures. This makes the plant capable of surviving in challenging climatic conditions.
Characteristics
The Euphorbia ingens has a woody and branched structure, which can reach up to 40 meters in height. The trunk and branches are adorned with thorns and have a grey-green bark. This plant bears small, yellow flowers and irregular, round fruits. What's special about this plant is that, like cacti, it stores water in its branched trunk.
Care
The Euphorbia ingens requires little care and is extremely drought tolerant due to its ability to store water. The plant prefers full sun and warmth and requires a minimum temperature of 10°C. Even though this plant is robust, it is recommended to regularly water it during the growing season and limit this in winter. When repotting the Euphorbia ingens, it's essential to use a well-draining soil to prevent the roots from standing in water.
