Origin
Pteris ensiformis Evergreen, also known as the Sword Brake Fern, originally hails from tropical Asia. In particular, the plant is commonly found in the wild in countries such as China, Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines. Today, however, the plant is widespread and beloved as an ornamental plant worldwide.
Characteristics
The Pteris ensiformis Evergreen is characterised by its narrow, sword-shaped leaves, from which the plant draws its name. The colour varies from dark green to silvery green. The plant can grow up to approximately 60 cm in height and a similar width. Under favourable conditions, multiple colours can be observed in the leaves, including silver, white and green.
Care
The care for the Pteris ensiformis Evergreen requires specific attention. The plant thrives best in partial to full shade and appreciates both air humidity and soil moisture. Temperatures between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius are most optimal. Additionally, the plant requires a well-draining soil type, such as light clay, sand or loam.
