Origin
The Juniperus media Hetzii, also known as Hetz's Juniper, is a conifer that originates from Northeast Asia. This species is part of the cypress family, which is spread across the entire Northern hemisphere.
Characteristics
The Juniperus media Hetzii has a compact growth habit and can grow to a height of about 1.5 to 2 metres. The plant has sharp pointed, dark green needles and produces bluish, berry-like cones in the late summer to early autumn. This conifer has a beautifully strict shape and is often used in landscapes for its aesthetic value.
Care
For good growth, the Juniperus media Hetzii needs a spot with full sun and well-draining soil. However, it can also grow in partially shaded places. Although the plant is drought-resistant, it prefers regular watering during dry periods. Pruning is not necessarily required, but can help to maintain the desired shape.
