DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Cedrus libani 'Sargentii' originates from the mountains of the eastern Mediterranean, particularly the mountains of Lebanon. This name refers to its discoverer, the renowned horticulturist Henry Winthrop Sargent. The species belongs to the Pinaceae family and is often referred to as the dwarf Lebanese cedar.

Characteristics
The Cedrus libani 'Sargentii' is a low-growing dwarf form of the original cedar, only reaching a height of 60 to 80 cm. The branches are spread and the needles are dark green. It has a short, wide, pyramidal shape and grows very slowly, meaning it can take decades to reach its final size. The tree produces conical fruits that turn brown when ripe.

Care
The Cedrus libani 'Sargentii' requires relatively little maintenance. It thrives in a sunny location and needs well-draining soil. Regular watering is advisable, especially during dry periods, but care must be taken to avoid overwatering. Pruning is only occasionally necessary to maintain the desired shape. Although it is resistant to cold temperatures, protection from strong winds and heavy snowfall may be recommended to prevent damage.
