DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Haworthia fasciata 'Concolor', better known as the Zebra cactus, has its roots in South Africa. Specifically, in the Eastern Cape and Western Cape provinces, where it can be found in natural succulent vegetation. The plant belongs to the Aloe family (Asphodelaceae) and is named after the British botanist, Adrian Hardy Haworth.

Characteristics
The Haworthia fasciata 'Concolor' is a succulent and is often associated with its horizontal, white striped patterns on the exterior of the thick, dark green leaves. This has earned the plant its nickname, the 'Zebra cactus'. The leaves are typically long and pointed, with a length between 5 and 8 centimetres. The plant blooms in the spring and early summer, producing subtle white flowers on a long, slender stem.

Care
The Zebra cactus is a low-maintenance plant that thrives well in both indirect sunlight and semi-shade. The optimal temperature for the growth of the plant is between 18 and 27 degrees Celsius. Although it is a drought-resistant plant, it does like a consistent, moderate watering, particularly during the growing season in the spring and summer. The plant requires a rest period during the winter months and during this period the watering should be reduced.
