Origin
The Pinus sylvestris Repens, also known as Dwarf Pine, originates from Europe and Asia. This species is mainly found in Scandinavia, Scotland, and Siberia. It is a traditional tree species in these cold and northern parts of the world.

Characteristics
The Pinus sylvestris Repens is a low-growing, wide-spreading pine with a distinctive creeping growth habit. The needles are in bundles of two, blue-green in colour, and contrast sharply with the red bark of the trunk. Older trees have a distinctive, rough and scaly bark. The trees produce cones that are first green and turn brown over time.

Care
The Pinus sylvestris Repens prefers a sunny location. The soil must be well-draining, as this pine is not tolerant of waterlogging. The plant is not demanding in terms of soil nutrition, but grows best in slightly acidic to neutral soil. Pruning is not necessary, but if it is done, it should take place in late spring.
