Origin
The Taxus baccata 'Fastigiata Robusta' is a cultivar of the Taxus baccata, also known as the common yew. This species is native to Europe, North Africa, and West Asia. It is unclear exactly when the 'Fastigiata Robusta' originated, but the yew is one of the oldest known plant species.

Characteristics
The Taxus baccata 'Fastigiata Robusta' has a remarkably upright growth habit and is characterised by its dark green, needle-like leaves and red, berry-like fruits. The plant can reach a height of four to six metres. It is a slow-growing, evergreen conifer. Due to its compact and dense form, the 'Fastigiata Robusta' can be effectively used for hedges or single planting.

Care
The Taxus baccata 'Fastigiata Robusta' requires little maintenance. The plant does well in both full sun and semi-shade and prefers well-draining soil. Pruning is possible but not necessary, as the plant naturally maintains a neat shape. Watering is only required during prolonged droughts, and compost or manure can be added to the soil annually in the spring to promote growth.
